it was a full weekend... staring with Friday.
this is one of the self-portraits that was inspired by
master artists that my 8th graders worked on.
this one is my favorite - made by sammy
she was emulating de kooning and she did an amazing job!
this is sophia... she captured the mood of vincent's paintings
i love this!
so glad they didn't have 'starry night' on this poster - it's overdone...
and sanjay... i am really going to miss him next year. i've watched
him grow for 8 years!!!!
exciting news on the horizon!!! this is a vacation home that i have
fallen in love with... wish us luck:)
finally got to chant with suzin green after 14 years of listening to her
beautiful kirtan cd... she is one of the western pioneers of this music
and has such a powerful voice.
amar jyothi's altar - you can't see it because it's too dark,
but the dancing shiva statue was a gift to her from the
yogi's and yogini's at the river center when she dontated
money from the yoga classes to keep our art center running.
her new space 'yoga loka' has some intensely beautiful energy...
and lots of room to dance with bells on!
back home on sunday to make some art with friends...
testing out the waters to see if we can make an 'arts + crafts'
night work... we had a fun time talking, painting, stamping,
collaging and eating good food.
it looks like there is interest there, so i am hopefully going
to do it once a month at our house
anyone up for coming and being creative? you can draw,
sing, talk, knit, read, play music... meditate, cook, be....
jenny and sheila made prayer flags, i painted pages in my journal,
miriam made malas...
miriam made malas...
and sheila made this beautiful heart potato stamp!
hope you all had an inspiring weekend.
and creativity continues to bless your upcoming weekdays.
love,
jennifer

Wow, how I wish I lived closer to you! I would attend every arts/crafts night and learn from you and be creative. Of course I would bring you yummy Indian Vegetarian food too :)
