end of school year gratitude

the funniest story; a student came in this morning with a present for me...
a buddha balloon. it was the coolest end of year gift ever! as i was about
to take a photo it started to lose air quickly... she hadn't tied it correctly,
so it just totally deflated. i got this blurry shot before it lost all life...
i made a comment about 'impermanence' and she blew it up again.
then as i was tying it - it popped!
so... today i am grateful for learning a quite beautiful lesson
on impermanence and clinging.
other things i am grateful for...
my ever expanding inspiration wall in my school office/studio
another gift from the same student - a cardboard buddha sitting
on a peace crane she folded:)
that a 5th grade student really understood the project guidelines for this
plaster mask and made this beautiful peice:)
teaching the kids about sadako sasaki and folding
origami peace cranes with them - the multi colored one was
decorated by my intern;)
quotes like this found through http://www.kindovermatter.com/
my daily stop for inspiration of ALL kinds...
paintings that my students make that match my summer dresses.

also...
for 3 weeks of no (added) sugar!!!
still feeling good... still having cravings...

oh, and one more... that my other camera is getting
fixed under a warranty - this one takes blurry shots inside!!!

What a great lesson in impermanence- I hope the student wasn't upset. The mask and other student work are very cool but blurry-lol, so I'm grateful you're getting your camera fixed!
