the canal...

so much gratitude filling up my brain and heart...
i am sooo thankful for:

1. my little bike ride today on the towpath...
and for will, who fixed the back flat tire on the bike:)
2. our silly float down the same canal
on inner tubes - laughing, relaxing, cooling off...
thank you d. m. t. and stretch!
3.  the front porch - sitting out there all day,
making art, drawing and painting in my journal,
eating meals... the river and fresh air have a hold on me...
4. slow livin'

5. and this that i just read on f.book:
  by John E. Welshons
"In addition to Independence Day, we might consider recognizing and celebrating our essential INTERDEPENDENCE - Our connection with every other sentient being - and the Earth itself . . . Our dependence on Nature and on each other for our survival. The illusion of separateness is the source of most human problems. We are All One...We are all connected.
HAPPY INTERDEPENDENCE DAY!!!"

The place looks so wonderful, you are so blessed to have the summer off! I remembered you a lot when I recently attended Sri Radhanath Swami's lecture at work (yes, at work even though we are a huge corp!). The lecture was so wonderful, he is such a calming figure with his soft voice. I then signed up to buy his book and just received it, it's called "The Journey Home" by Radhanath Swami, an American Swami as he calls himself. He was born Jewish in IL, decided to go to India in quest of spirituality and the rest is history as they say :) I thought you might be interested in reading this book, can't wait to get started.
