here is the shower i had in rishikesh for 5 days.
no shower head. just a bucket and faucet...
something seen a lot in india.
depending on your experience in life, this could
be seen as a luxury or it could be seen as an inconvenience...
the hot water worked and there was a good supply of
it, not so in many parts of this country and other countries
that i have not even visited yet.
so even though the comfort level was not
where i am used to (which is a whole other post...)
i can now - in retrospect - see it as being grateful
for even the chance to clean my body in a place
that leaves black soot in your nostrils.
i have so many luxuries and so much comfort
in my daily life here in the states... i just
want to be aware and thankful about that in each and
every moment...
at the sachadham ashram, where i did satsang
a couple of mornings, this was the toilet.
again, not what we are used to here... but to have
an enclosure, a flush, a trash receptacle... is something
to be thankful for when you gotta go.
it's even more natural to squat
when you are doing your business, than it is to sit...
...just a few thoughts to start the day with.
more pics and stories to come:)
