thankfully i had a few days of rest during thanksgiving weekend,
because before and after have been a bit difficult...
but my new structural yoga therapy routine
(created by my friend glenn, who is a student of mukunda stiles)
and my favorite teas
are helping to keep me calm lately.
being around my students can be inspiring sometimes,
and just downright nerve wrecking at other times...
so it is nice to be developing rituals and a practice
that help take the edge off of teaching on a daily basis.
so before i go to bed each night, i try to do some
joint freeing exercises, some yoga postures specifically
designed to work with my pain issues, alternate nostril breathing,
tea, lighting a candle, reading some stories about maharaj-ji
and my favorite incense are what are keeping me going...
i don't know where i would be without these.
hope you all have some daily rituals
that keep you feeling good...

it is so hard to keep peace and calm facing our busy world, tea and yoga are also my roots
Morning pranayam and abhyanga, especially on work days, get me off on the right (oily) foot...
Still wishing for a yoga routine... Taking photographs and writing are rituals, helping me feeling good everyday :-)
lilasvb,
yes - so hard! breathing and being present in each moment help tremendously too...
m.heart - wish i could do something in the morning too - haven't figured that out yet.
anyes - i wished for a long time for a yoga routine! it will come to you... when it needs to. i'd like to incorporate writing too... but that may have to wait. it's hard enough to do all of the things in my ritual already:)
thanks for your comments!
