many of you who read my blog know that i went to
India last year. it was my second journey to the motherland...
i spent months raising money to buy art supplies
so that i could bring them to a school run by an ashram in Vrindavan...
i got to spend three wonderful days making art with the children
there, all who struggle with poverty in their lives.
they get free uniforms, a hot meal each day and learn
math, social studies, english and more...
it was the most amazing experience...
and i would like to go back and do it again.
if i can manage it, i would love to see the children from last year,
and visit the ashram again...
but i plan to travel north to another place that is dear to my
heart and work with a school near there.
if anyone knows of a school i can bring supplies to
or knows anyone connected with the Tibetan Children's Village
I could speak to... please let me know.
i am so excited for this trip and the planning stage
is finally up on the top of my to do list...
this year, i am going to involve my own students in
this journey and have them come up with projects
and what supplies we will need. it will be service learning
in a way that will surely impact their lives, as well
as mine. i will also be traveling with some special people...
more on that to come!
so if anyone would like to become a part of this project
by purchasing my artwork (or helping me to connect with
someone in McLeod Ganj/Dharamshala) please
go to my etsy site or email me at jennifermazzucco33@gmail.com
remember these? they are ALL for sale on my etsy site,
with the exception of a few that sold in frenchtown
all the pieces for sale are $20!
LOTS OF GRATITUDE AND LOVE,
jennifer
ps. stay tuned....
