finally!

got into my studio tonight for the first time
in a LONG time...  this big lotus painting
used to be drab off white and red...
it was in a series of work i did over 3 years ago...
i thought it needed some bright colors
and was so inspired by the lakshmi image
i found today that i incorporated her into the painting.
detail of her face...
this is another old painting that i spruced up...
of course with my favorite color - hot pink!
and i had a lot of extra orange paint mixed so
i painted the background of my huge hanuman
painting. it is the biggest painting i have ever
worked on! it will be a work in progress for
a long time...

in other news, i ended my two week purging
and excavating and organizing... with ordering a
15 foot dumpster and burning years worth of
no longer needed paperwork. it was a cleansing
weekend... and we almost filled up the dumpster
in one day! pics to come...

peace to you all

Wow...a whole dumpster filled up? I am impressed! I got into that purging mood myself this weekend. Dumped everything in my closet out on the floor and then reorganized everything. It feels so nice and clean now. A good way to start the winter where normally things would feel crowded and congested.

yes! there's one corner left for misc. stuff in that dumpster... we did some work on our deck and kitchen this summer, so some of it was wood that we couldn't burn... our dumpster co. will recycle as much as possible, so that is a good thing. i would like to get rid of more, but that may take a while (and a few more kirtans:)
it feels like a weight lifted - doesn't it? especially closets with clothing because we find things we never wear and it's like treasure hunting!
happy cleansing:)
peace,
