adding more light to the soul...
last night we went to sing with sita, fumio and suan
at a kirtan at dharma mittra yoga, central ct
it was a tie dye party beforehand, then we shared
some snacks and then sang our hearts out with sita's light.
of course, i brought my ankle bells,
and danced for the first time in a long time...
the beautiful sheila and jenny c. - my bhakti caravan,
sweet soul sister angels...
and the nicest woman named yvonne in the background -
i hope that she finds her kirtan voice soon...
what a wonderful generous heart she had.
this is what i brought to tie-dye... an old pink dress that i barely
wear, but love that it was made by my friend val (civilian clothing)
a long long time ago...
so i re-purposed it with some funky red, yellow and orange dyes
with a sort of accordion fold pattern...
it was quite fun and i think i will wear it more now.
evidence of tie-dye... i got to into it, i forgot to put on rubber gloves.
and today, after a bit of time in my studio...
dear hands,
i am so grateful for your strength,
agility, fine tuned motor skills...
for your shape
that combine my mother and father's
seamlessly...
i am sorry for the constant overuse,
but i only have one life in this skin
so i need to make as many things
as i possibly can.
i promise to take better care of you...
to let you rest more.
thank you hands, for giving me
39 years of writing,
typing, clapping, dancing,
drawing, paintings, constructing,
cooking, cleaning, errand doing...
wiping tears from my eyes
and caring for
the rest of my body...
helping to allow light come
into my heart and soul...
i love you
hands.
