11 things...

What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life? (Author: Sam Davidson)

susannah conway and others have been posting these lists.
they have inspired me to work on mine
and get the courage to post it.
here goes...

11 things my life does NOT need in 2011
1. i will no longer focus on the negative side of things.
2. i will no longer give my past any power over my present.
that means, i will no longer allow it to cloud my happiness
what is done... is done... and it has made me stronger.
3. i will not allow any employer to take advantage of
my hard work, my creative efforts or my flexibility.
4. i will no longer feel guilt of any kind (ok, that's
a steep one)... but i'd like to get there someday,
so i've got to start somewhere!
5. i will not continue to feel like the black sheep of the
family, for any reason - past, present or future.
6. i will no longer focus more on other people's light,
than i do on my own. humble is good... and i want
to continue to support others, its just time i support
myself as much.
7. i will not longer be wishy washy about my children's
book. it will get published - in some way shape or form.
8. i will no longer give all of my energy to my students.
i will keep a fair amount of it for my creative endeavors
9. i will stop being so serious in order to have more fun.
10. i will no longer fear the results of decisions i
have made and continue to make.
(in fact, let's get rid of fear all the way. it is toxic
and it is the opposite of love, which is what i would
like to be more of)

11. i will no longer berate myself for
temporarily failing with any one of the above
and ending up curled into a ball on the couch under a gray cloud,
exhausted from teaching,
feeling guilty about eating too much chocolate and
having a crying fit about something that happened
three years ago;)

wish me luck!
ps. these are not new years resolutions,
i usually only come up with ONE of those.
these are rather, sub texts i'd like to work on
for the future:)

I like the idea of leaving fear and guilt behind :)
