thanksgiving day gratitude

 i am so grateful for...
1. getting my taste back for small gifts of art
2. our big chalkboard pantry doors that right now
serve as the largest gratitude list i have ever made.
3. brand new boots (after 4 years of wearing the same
ones every day during winter)
4. new soft water - i can actually get my hand through
my hair and now the pipes have a better chance of not leaking
5. family... and my extended community family
that has been growing bigger lately
6. clothing consignment stores & clothing swaps...
and the score of the season that is keeping me warm right now.
7. the continuing purging of 'stuff' and organizational rampage...
i can now see the floor in our coat closet.
8. the fact that i even have a coat closet?!
9. the meals i am about to have with #5
10. seeing the below scene 15 minutes ago right off
of a busy street in ridgefield. it was an omen...
a beautiful sight of wild turkeys enjoying a day
when most will not have the same fate.
11. and a BIG epiphany i just had while saying a little
thank you prayer for my breakfast...
that if we consider everything that shows up in our life,
(a meal, a friend, a sunny day, a smile we see)
to be a beautiful gift, presented to us by the universe...
it would help us all to be so much more grateful.

i'm sure i read that somewhere at some point, but
i was just reminded of it and thought i'd share.

i hope that all of you have a wonderful day of
giving thanks for all we are blessed with.

xolove,
jennifer

lovely list of gratitudes. I have been wearing the same pair of winter boots for at least 20 years. they have lost some of their waterproofing and are kinda short for up here in the north deep snow country but I love them.

thanks sukipoet! ahh... 20 years! mine were one size too big and felt really frumpy... but i kept them to wear on those days where big warm socks are the key to staying cozy... they aren't really "winter boots" but the ones i wear every day to teach in... my winter boots are at least 15 years old and weigh a ton - they are just for getting through the snow;)

yes - la dolce cat - so much to be grateful for - always!!!!!!!!

sending you both love...
