after working on her for 2 years
with my teacher and friend Pema,
she is finally finished.
here are some details...
i love this bird:)
pema did the water... i worked hard on the cloth designs
the face was difficult because the white paint
was too thick (had to paint it many times)...
it is pure stone color (ground up stone)
so it is hard to paint with...
i also painted the face wrong at one point
and it had to be covered up.
this is what she looked like two years ago...
this is a drawing i did using a grid in my journal.
she was then transferred onto a muslin type of canvas
that was primed with glue...
it was the most intense project i have ever worked
on in my whole art career.

yes sharmon, i have been studying thangka drawing + painting for 3 years now with my tibetan teacher and friend. it has been an amazing journey. now back to drawing the buddha.
