mehndi party

i was invited to do mehndi for one of my students

at her birthday party.

her mom teaches with me at school.

we did an art project similar to the one

i did in india at the ashram...

it was a fun afternoon of indian music, food,

dancing and a cake with an elephant on it!

the energy was really sweet.

if i could be 9 or 10 again, it's the birthday

party i would want to have:)

fun was had by all...

her aunt even got a peacock!

each girl got a flower or a heart... 

the best part of the party was that instead of

gifts, she asked all of her friends to donate to 

their favorite charities - or to the ashram

i taught at. so three parents gave very generous

gifts that will go towards getting school supplies

at shree bindu sewa sansthan!
