gratitude

to make up for my crankiness last night
i am going to make a gratitude list:

i am grateful for...
1. bhagavan das and his version of the hanuman chalisa produced by the beastie boys. i sang it at the top of my lungs in the car this morning on the way to school.
2. the lettuce + radishes that the sun and rain (and will's hard work) brought to us via his school garden.

3. the gorgeous elephant statue that a student gave to me today, after i yelled at him for doing something that was more my fault than his... i almost cried... it is one of the most meaningful gifts i have gotten from a child here at school...
4. that this cold weather will make me even more appreciative of the warmth that is coming our way soon + knowing that there is no such thing as bad weather... (just rain, cold, gray,) and that i have a choice of how it effects me...

6. that even in the coldness of this morning i was able to see the beauty in the fog that had settled at the tips of the trees on our breathtaking view from my classroom door.
